Pickler

Pickler is a processor used to make pickled products. The idea comes from Era and she requires one fermenter, one brewer, and three of any alcohol (wine, beer, or mead) to research it.
The Pickler is passive use and does not cost any Stamina. It can process one item at a time.
The quality of Pickles comes from quality of the Produce used (not the Vinegar). Higher value vinegar, however, lasts for pickling more items (up to 5).
The Contribution value of Pickles is determined by a recipe multiplier, plus 30 (to account for the value of the vinegar).

Vinegar Strength
The value of the vinegar is divided by 30 and rounded (using Mathf.RoundToInt, which behaves strangely around x.5), with a min of 1 and max of 5:
Items Pickled | Vinegar Value |
---|---|
1 | 0-44 |
2 | 45-75 |
3 | 76-104 |
4 | 105-135 |
5 | 136+ |
Trivia
- As long as you have not pickled anything yet, you can remove and recover vinegar from the pickler. This is a great way to see in-game the strength of whatever vinegar is put in.
- Some recommended things to pickle are Ostrich Eggs, Butternut Squashes, Pumpkins, Beets or Sea Kale (depending on which one a player prefers to turn into vinegar), and Kohlrabi.
