Ranching
Ranching is an idea needing the help of several Pachan Clan members.
Interact with wild animals and tame them by attuning to their melodies; invite them to live in the Clan; ride tamed animals and call them over to you.
Take care of animals; understand their unique statistics and improve them by breeding new generations.
Befriending Wild Animals
Starting from the 2nd day of Spring, interact with any wild animal to spark Okka's idea: "Animal Friendship". It will require Plant Fiber (20) to research this idea. After 1 day, Okka will complete their research and give a Flute.
Interact with wild animals and Attune to the wild animal's melody in a mini-game: Play the flute only when the white rings touch the center ring with the animal's icon. Each species of animal has a different melody.
- Play the flute to a wild animal once a day. Each successful time the melody is played to the animal, their music note meter will fill up slowly. Fill the animal's music notes to spark another idea from Okka: "Animal Riding".
Riding Tamed Animals
The first time a wild animal becomes tamed, Okka will have the Animal Riding Idea. It will require (10) Plant Fiber, and (3) of Any Root, and a total Clan prosperity of at least 10,000 . Okka will finish research on "Animal Riding" in 2 days.
In the interaction menu with any tamed animal, choose "Ride" to select that animal as your mount. This can be done with any eligible animal, even if they are not currently living on your ranch, however, only the tamed animals currently living with will be able to be called by the Calling Horns.
Invite Tamed Animals to Live Together
Animal Taming is an idea had by Croll to invite tamed animals to live in the village. Researching the idea will require wood (40), stone (30) and the Clan will need to have a total Clan prosperity of at least 4,250 .
Croll will need 2 days to research, and then will offer to build a Small Animal Shed. The first Small Animal Shed is built for free, but building more Animal Sheds, or upgrading existing Animal Sheds will cost both Contribution Points and Resource Materials.
As long as there is an Animal Shed with available space, an animal that has been tamed from the wild can be invited to the Clan.

Animal Taming Better
Different wild animals have a different amount of music notes. Some young animals have less notes than a fully-grown adult animal so they can be tamed faster, but will need to grow up before they can give any animal produce.
The Player only has 4 chances a day to play the flute for a wild animal; however, the Player can cancel the interaction as long as there have been no notes played. When unfamiliar with an animal's melody, start the melody but don't play any notes, listen through the music and then press the ("esc") escape button to cancel.

Caring for Animals
Caring for animals means to keep them fed, keep their animal sheds clean, and to heal them with medicine if they become sick.
Feeding Animals
Animals eat Plant Fiber, Hay Bales, or any Grain. Animals will eat freely if there are any weeds or Grass Sprouts growing outside (Grass and weeds do not grow during winter). There is also a trough inside every animal shed that can be filled by the Player by hand, or filled automatically if a Granary is built and is stocked with Plant Fiber, Hay Bales, or any Grains.
If animals do not have access to food for several days, the animal will have a "Hungry" status. Hungry animals will have the option to be hand-fed by the Player directly to alleviate their hunger. Animals will become hungry if they are fenced in an area with no weeds or Grass Sprouts growing outside, and have no food in their trough to eat.
Sick Animals
Occasionally piles of filth will accumulate inside the Animal Shed. Interact with the filth pile to clean it up and receive 1 poop per animal filth pile cleaned. Failing to clean up the filth will make it more likely that the animals in that shed will become sick.
When an animal is sick, they will no longer interact with the Player or give animal produce. Hold Cold Medicine , Flea Repellent , Tummy Medicine , or Willow Bark Medicine and interact with the animal to cure them. The first time an animal becomes sick, a smoke signal from Ada will give the Player the recipes for each medicine type.
In the Main Menu, the "Journal" tab has an option for "Animals". On the "Animals" menu tab is a list of all animals that will show if an animal is sick. As well as icons to represent if they are sick with: Tummy problems, Fleas, or a Cold. Hungry status will also be shown if the animal is hungry.
Ways to Boost Animal Friendship
In the Journal menu under the Animals tab: Every current animal living in the village is displayed with critical information. The far right of the menu keeps track of which animals have received interaction which boosts friendship daily. Playing the Flute for animals will also boost their friendship when played 2 times for them each in-game week.
Cooking dishes with the + Animal Friendship buff will boost friendship gain only when doing an action (such as daily interaction or playing the flute) while the buff is active.

The one way to instantly boost any animal's friendship to max hearts is by giving the animal a Golden Pomegranate. Golden Pomegranates can be obtained either through exchanging with the Glyptoden Shop every Sunday at the Jungle, once all Prophecies have been completed, or by flying to the south-western side of the Glyptoden Den, detransforming, walking through the entrance, and then talking to To, who will give 1 free Golden Pomegranate every time a new season begins.
Animal Stats
Each Barn Animal has 3 categories of statistics. Base Quality, Base Production, Base Speed. Every animal has at least 1 level in each statistic. There is no way to increase the level of animal's statistics, but through breeding, offspring can be born with increases to each statistic's level.
Base Quality is the quality of animal produce that animal will give.
Base Production is the number of days that it takes for the animal to give more produce. The higher the Base Production level is, the more frequently the animal will give produce.
Base Speed is the speed that the animal moves when riding them as a mount. The higher the Base Speed level is, the faster the animal will move when riding them, including during Racing competitions.
Breeding Animals
The first time an animal reaches 6 hearts, Tetih will have the Breeding Pen Idea. It will require Flint (50), Wood (30), Plant Fiber (20), and a total Clan prosperity of at least 50,000 . The first Breeding Pen is built for free, but building more will cost both Contribution Points and Resource Materials, and can be built by talking to Croll.
Breeding animals requires 1 male and 1 female of the same species at 6 hearts or more. The child born between them could be either male or female, and (if the parents are different color variations) could be either color of the parents.
The stats of the offspring are guaranteed to have the highest stats level of their parents, and could possibly be born with +1 stat higher than their parents in any of the 3 stats (Base Quality, Base Production, Base Speed). At least 1 stat is guaranteed to be +1 higher for the newborn than their parents, but it's not very likely to get more than just 1 stat will be boosted.
Parents will give birth after 3 days in the Breeding Pen. The same parents can then be selected to breed again after 3 days.
