The Caves.png Caves are an extensive system of rooms filled with puzzles, mysteries, secret powers, and the source of many essential resources.

The caves become available to be explored starting from the 4th day of Spring Spring.png at the Forest Cave entrance. Until reaching the Room: Owl's Preamble, all rooms can be accessed by just the starting Handaxe.png handaxe but from then on, upgraded tools will be needed to reach further rooms.

As the Caves are explored, more entrances from the caves can be unlocked as well as warp points throughout the Caves and beyond.

Many essential materials needed in the game can be found only in the Caves.

Totems

Totem Accepts Offering.png

Totems are magical animal beings that created the puzzles of the Caves as a test. Passing the totem's trial will unlock further cave exploration, new kinds of cave materials, and a new ability to use in the caves.

Each totem has its own room with a giant statue of the being. Hints can be found in Cave Paintings around the rooms leading up to the totems, or by talking to Glyp, To, or Don.

Destroying a rock costs 0 stamina and may drop a Bear Claw. Switch to the Bear Claw on the inventory belt to use "Call Bear" to destroy several rocks. Repeat to using the Hammer if you run out of Bear Claws. Each room off the central one, blocked by a bear block, holds 1 hint. Change rooms after finding the hint. Bear Claws will not be saved upon exiting; there is no use to gathering a stockpile. You will obtain 10 after completing the cutscene and find them in rocks afterward. Bear solution.png
