Rite of Passage.png Rite of Passage is a coming of age ceremony for members of the Pachan Clan. The ceremony is held beneath the Pacha Tree by the Clan's Spiritual Leader.

The summer before reaching The Land.png The Land, the Clan's Spiritual Leader Vuak.png Vuak asked the Spirits about the next Rite of Passage, the Spirits demanded the Clan to move and hold the ceremony beneath a new Pacha Tree far to the east. The second day of the first Spring in The Land.png The Land finally holds this important ceremony.

The event will begin immediately at the start of the day. Alongside the Player, Ibon.png Ibon, Frer.png Frer, and Nokk.png Nokk participate in the ceremony.

Offerings to Pacha

Each participant in the Rite of Passage offers an item of significance to Pacha. The player may choose one of several items to offer. Depending on the offering, the player will receive a boost to one of their stats for the remainder of the Year 1 Spring season:

Offering Description Status Boost
Seed Bag.png
Seeds: that GROW QUICKLY into food we can harvest. Increased plant growth
Gyrodus.png
A Fish: that I was LUCKY enough to catch. Improved luck catching better fish
Milk Thistle.png
A Flower: That BLOOMS like friendship. Increased friendship gain with NPCs
Roasted Vegetables.png
A Dish: that gives us STAMINA for our day. Increased max stamina

Totems

After an offering is placed before the Pacha Tree, Vuak.png Vuak reveals the totem that protects that person. Totems are guardian Spirits, most often animals, that represent different traits in the person they are the totem of. The totem spirit that protects an individual Pachan seems to depend on the Pachan's skills and personality.

  • Ibon.png Ibon offers to Pacha her first instrument, and is revealed to be protected by the Cave Lion spirit.
  • Frer.png Frer offers to Pacha a fish, and is revealed to be protected by the Bear spirit.
  • Nokk.png Nokk offers to Pacha his best dish, and is revealed to be protected by the Wild Boar spirit.
  • The Player, regardless of the offering, is revealed to be protected by the ancient spirit of the Tree of Pacha Herself.

The Feast

After the ceremony, the whole Clan gathers for a feast. If the player has not yet talked to all Pachans, the feast provides an opportunity to meet the more elusive villagers.
