Starting a Race

Race Day Okka.png

The day a Race is happening the player will have a Smoke Signal waking up. Go to the southern side of the bonfire in front of the Pachan Hearth.png Pachan Hearth, any time between 6 am until 6:25 pm and talk to Okka.png Okka to participate in a Race.

Talking to Okka there are the options to see what the day's set Race course is and what the day's prizes are for placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. The prize for 1st place is always 3 of a cooked dish, 2nd place is 2 of a cooked dish, and 3rd place is 1 of any Harvest.

There is an option to Practice the Race course of the day but this can only be done once.

Whatever animal is set as the Player's current mount will be the animal the Player rides in the Race.

How to Race

Every Race course has a set path. As long as the animal's feet are on the pathway the animal will build their [SPRINT] meter that makes the animal move at its fastest speed. If the animal's feet are off the course pathway the [SPRINT] meter will be disabled and the animal will move slowly. Hitting any obstacles will slow the animal down and take away part of the built up [SPRINT] energy from the meter.

The overall speed of the animal will be affected by the Base Speed stats of the animal set as the Player's current mount. Breeding is the only way to improve the Base Speed stats of an animal.

Prophecy

Participating in a Race is required to complete the Befriending Beasts prophecy.
