Animals

Animals are found in the wild. Most can be befriended and then invited to the village.

Some animals become barn animals that can give a variety of useful animal produce.

Other animals can become Pets and will require a Small or larger Hut to invite to come live together.

Rare and Legendary Variants

Rare and Legendary variants only exist for Barn Animals. Each Barn Animal has 7 normal color variants that can be found at any time in the Wild. Each Barn Animal has 2 Rare color variants, and 1 of those is a Golden color variant. There is only 1 color variant for an animal's Legendary color. Rare and Legendary Barn Animals can be found in the wild but only when the Player has met certain requirements and even after that, the Rare and Legendary variants can only be found on certain days of certain seasons in the whole (in-game) year.

There is another way to get a rare or legendary animal with the Rare Pinecone and Legendary Pinecone but these items can only be obtained in the Jungle when all Prophecies are completed. These items will turn any Barn Animal currently tamed by the Player into a Rare or Legendary color variant.

Regardless of what color a Barn Animal is, their animal produce is not affected. Rare or Legendary colors do not affect an animal's Base stats and has no affect on the item's produced.

Finding Rare and Legendary variants in the Wild:

Requirements:

A Rare variant can be found in the wild only after the Player has:

• tamed at least 4 different color variants of the animal
• tamed at least 8 (of any color) of that animal in total

A Legendary variant can be found in the wild only after the Player has:

• tamed at least 6 different color variants of the animal
• tamed at least 12 (of any color) of that animal in total

These requirements are for the total number of tamed animals the Player has ever tamed. The Player does need to have invited the animals to the village, but you do not need to keep them in your barn. Releasing them or sending them to Grob will still count. Bred animals does not count towards this total.

Days when a Rare or Legendary Variant Spawns in the Wild

When the requirements are met, The Player will still only find a Rare or Legendary in the wild on very specific days of the year. Use the Chart below to see what days each animal's Rare and Legendary variants can be found. All Legendary can only be found from Year 2 on, even if you meet all the requirements, only the Legendary variant will not spawn until Year 2.
